Patterning is a core concept upon which many mathematical concepts are based. Times tables, addition and skip counting all require an understanding of and proficiency in patterning. Patterns are also one of the core concepts that are both directly and indirectly tested in all early childhood admissions tests such as the Stanford-Binet, ERB/WPPSI-III, OLSAT and the CogAT.
Our Patterns book includes:
- Blue and yellow blocks to help children construct and create their own patterns prior to moving to more complex worksheets
- Suggested strategies to help children master patterns
- Recommended activities and books that can be incorporated into children’s daily lives
- A total of 150 pattern exercises that cover the most common types of patterns
